I am a total sucker for being able to load up an app on my PC to monitor things like fan speeds, temperatures, clock frequencies, and so forth, and when I took a look at Thermaltake’s WATER3.0 Extreme last month, I was pleased to see that the bundled software allowed me to delve into the cooler’s mind a little bit – err, pump.
With the company’s just-announced Toughpower DPS power supply, it has proven that its software integration isn’t about to end anytime soon, and I must admit… this is a rather sweet-looking solution.
The software bundled with the DPS will allow you to monitor things like the current… ahem, current, wattage, temperature, fan speed, and so forth. Want to prove to people just how much power you’re sucking from the wall? There’s even an option to share the information to certain social networking sites. Boy, that’s humorous.
What’s less humorous, but awesome, is the fact that the software will allow you to monitor power use over time, in 6 hour intervals, so that you can better calculate just how much you’re tacking onto your power bill. Of course, if you’re running an overclocked rig with multiple GPUs, maybe that’s something you don’t want to be looking at!
While pricing isn’t clear the moment, availability should come very soon, with units likely to hit etail over the next couple of days.
