A couple of weeks in advance of Windows 10’s launch, a German Windows-focused tech site reveals the software’s box art. Well – that assumes that the renderings are legitimate. It wouldn’t be difficult for a talented artist to pull off a convincing job. Admittedly though, these boxes look great – modern and clean – and perhaps even eye-catching.
Considering the fact that so many people will be upgrading to Microsoft’s next OS for free, and those who can’t might still opt for the digital route, it seems like the number of people who will actually own one of these boxes will be few. In fact, box art in general is quickly becoming a relic – a bit sad, perhaps, but expected.
Nonetheless, there are a couple of different variants of the box art, with some showing just the Windows logo in either blue or purple rather than a screen with Windows 10 desktop. I’d assume that the boxes with the Windows logo are for the OEM versions, whereas the ones shown above are for the complete version (able to be moved from one PC to the next).
As a reminder, Windows 10 will release on July 29. Last month, Jamie pointed out a couple of things to bear in mind before upgrading, and it’s worth checking that out again as you prepare to make the move.
