Right on schedule, the latest iteration of the Consumer Electronic Show is set to begin next week, and as usual, we’ll be there to check out the sites and report on all that’s important and interesting. One of the best parts of CES is that it gives us all a clear idea of what to expect from the upcoming year, so one must ask oneself… what trends will we be seeing at CES 2011?
It goes without saying that the mobile side of things is going to dominate the show floor. We’ve been moving that way for a while, and now more than ever, companies are committed to tackling the niche of everyone. On the mobile phone side, we should be seeing a lot of 4G options, and for computing, we’ll no doubt see tablets, tablets, and more tablets.
Intel, set to launch its Sandy Bridge platform next week, is sure to kick 2011 off right with a look at some of the most power-efficient and powerful processors that we’ve seen to date. Along with that, we should also be seeing the best IGP performance ever to hit Intel – at least, we can hope.
During 2010, “3D” media made a huge splash, and some filmakers have even vouched to make all of their movies in a 3D format going forward. That’s some huge commitment, and given that, we’re sure to see lots and lots of 3D solutions at the event. Perhaps we’ll see displays that truly negate the need for special 3D glasses?
Alongside all this, we’re also likely to learn a lot more about upcoming technologies to do with cars, and even more “green” options for all of our lifestyle products. One thing’s for sure… we’re bound to be overwhelmed with the onslaught of news to come out of CES 2011, but that’s half the fun, right?
Of course, we want to know what you guys are looking forward to gaining from the show, so please speak out in our comment thread!
