It hardly feels like it’s been a couple of months since I attended the GO OC 2009 North American regional final, but lo and behold, fifteen months have passed since! The 2010 iteration of the event is being held a little bit later this year for various reasons, and happens this coming weekend, Saturday (7th). Like last year, it’s being held at the Pacific Palms hotel in Industry, California.
I’m not going to be at the event, but our SSD guru Robert Tanner is, and he’ll be doing his best to keep us up to date on the day’s happenings in our forums, and then post an overview article once he returns home. This year, the event looks promising, with lots of great talent once again being shoved into a crowded room to strut their stuff.
The list of competitors this year isn’t starkly different from last year’s, with 3oh6 being the lone Canadian to compete, with Buckeye, Duex, FUGGER, G H Z, Gautam, Gomeler, mikeguava, rdrash, ROSS, sno.1cn and Vapor set out to prove that they’re the best of the best for the US. Being a Canadian, I can’t help but root for 3oh6, so that’s where my vote goes!
Speaking of “vote”, Gigabyte is involving YOU in this event as well, not just the overclockers. You have the chance to win some nifty prizes by simply guessing who the winner is going to be. As far as I can tell, it doesn’t matter if your pick wins… you just need to vote, and then you’ll be entered! Not a bad deal.
The weekend will be here before we know it, so stay tuned to the site as we’ll follow the event as it happens.
