DDR3 might be lurking out there, but DDR2 is still the most popular option for most people, and for good reason. It's fast, and currently, very inexpensive. Although there are many PC2-6400 kits available, Kingston puts a twist on their's by offering it with tight 3-3-3 timings.
Like a fine wine, installing 4GB of RAM requires an acquired taste. Not everyone likes wine, and not everyone needs 4GB of RAM. However, with Vista and the future looking to change that, many are considering a move on up. Today we are taking a look at a kit that's not only priced right, but has some overclocking headroom as well.
Mushkin is the only memory company right now to offer 4GB extreme performance kits, with their top-end offering on our test bench today. Despite the fact that it already has high stock speeds, we were surprised to find out that it still had a lot of overclocking headroom.
Although Super Talent is still growing in popularity, they know how to put together a solid kit of ram. Today we will be taking a look at their latest "Performance" 4GB PC2-6400 kit with timings of 5-5-5.
It's not often that Crucial releases a new high-end kit, but they've finally caught up to everyone else and released Ballistix clocked at DDR2-1066. Today we are taking a look at the Tracer version and look to see how far we can push them over stock.
