We’re a bit late on posting this, but a brand-new Humble Bundle kicked off a couple of days ago, and so far it’s off to a great start. Much like the previous bundle, this one features a single overarching game, Voxatron, but since publishing, two other games have been added to reward those who pay more than the average.

In a bit of not-so-surprising news, rumor has it that Apple is mulling the idea of pulling the plug on its high-end desktop Mac Pro line, leaving just the Mac mini and iMac to choose from. As Mac Pros have long been the go-to computer for professionals working with OS X, a discontinuation of the line wouldn’t go unnoticed.

Halloween is known for its dark colors, copious amounts of candy and of course, lots of decorations. So what better time would there have been than yesterday for Google to unveil is revamped Google Reader, which is about as minimalist as it gets, with more white than the Google homepage (alright, perhaps not that much white)?

No one likes to be treated as a number, but let’s throw that convention out the window for a moment (just be sure to clean it up off the street later) to take a look at a simple but interesting tool that BBC launched on its website to celebrate the 7 billionth person on earth, which will occur in the coming weeks.

With the advent of the social network, personal security has become a more important topic than ever. If you are to ask the folks at Facebook about their security measures, they’d quickly tell you that they’re all good. But just howgood? With the recent passing of Steve Jobs, “innovator” has been a title thrown around a lot. It’s for good reason, as Steve was one of the best. As of late, however, it seems that most of what’s truly interesting or intriguing to come out of Apple has been the result of acquisitions. Take Siri, the advanced voice recognition and response system…

When visiting trade shows such as CES, we’re often exposed to what I like to call “pre-fads” – that is, things that are obvious to become fads as soon as mass-production occurs. We saw it with ‘3D’ TVs, OLED screens, netbooks, tablets and so forth. There’s one piece of tech that we’ve seen time and time again that has yet to make it to…

The good folks at GOG.com are following in Steam’s footsteps and holding their own Halloween sale this weekend. It also features some spooky classics, but due to the overall limited selection of GOG’s service to begin with (compared to Steam), the selection is limited to only 12 titles. But what the sale lacks in selection, it

A couple of weeks ago, we linked to an in-depth look of the Task Manager in Windows 8 at the official development blog, and this week, the team followed-up to talk a bit more about monitoring your desktop or server with it. While the Task Manager has seemed sufficient in recent Windows iterations, the update coming exposes just…

We talked just earlier this week about the sale events that Valve has become well-known for with its Steam platform, so what better time to see another one kick off? You have Halloween to thank this time around, with a huge assortment of “spooky” games to choose from – including the just-launched Railworks 3: Train Simulator…

Nintendo was once a company that seemed to generate huge revenue regardless of what it did, but with its latest financial report showing a loss of $923 million USD for the first half of the company’s fiscal year, it looks like things have begun to change. Nintendo cites the strong Yen and the lackluster response to its 3DS handheld…

When OCZ acquired SSD controller maker Indilinx this past March, I couldn’t help but wonder what it was that Indilinx offered over SandForce. Of course, the real question should have been about how much more SandForcewas worth than Indilinx, and thanks to an acquisition by LSI, that question has been answered.

Grand Theft Auto IV might have just come out three years ago, but fans of the series have grown anxious at the fact that Rockstar hasn’t announced its next iteration. Thecus knows how to make a good NAS – and I should know; I’ve been using (and planning to review) the N4200 for quite some time and have been more than please overall with it. At a recent conference held in Seattle, Valve’s Gabe Newell discussed some results of his company’s experiments with price variation with Steam sales and why pricing has little to do with piracy. This sort of disclosed information is interesting for the fact that Valve has always been a private, tight-lipped developer/publisher – Newell’s…
